“Creativity is the joy of not knowing it all. The joy of not knowing it all refers to the realization that we seldom if ever have all the answers; we always have the ability to generate more solutions to just about any problem. Being creative is being able to see or imagine a great deal of opportunity to life’s problems. Creativity is having options. ” Ernie Zelinkski

Some people believe they are not creative because they think creativity is being able to draw, paint, write poetry, act … creativity is also about innovation, finding agreements and positive solutions.  There has been debate whether creativity is important in a leader … to me that makes no sense. Leading projects, humans and organizations requires the ability to have strategic vision, recognize issues and problem solve… all require creativity.

Can you think of someone who you consider a great leader?  Do you think they accepted that they did not know everything and that part of their ability to lead was being able to see options and opportunity?
