“If done right, inclusion positively impacts every part of society. Creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable culture isn’t easy – it requires courage, dedication, and a lot of hard work. Real inclusion requires you to take responsibility, and sometimes have uncomfortable conversations or make hard choices.” Amber Cabral

I truly believe my life and the world is so much better place when I am surrounded by diversity.  I mean all kinds of diversity, diversity of opinions, lived experiences, cultures, and beliefs.  The richness of knowledge, the sharing of stories, the creative solutions to problems, these are all more interesting and benefit from the ability to work with others who bring their uniqueness to the conversation.

I understand that it can be uncomfortable sometimes having to face our own biases – our own limiting beliefs, I encourage everyone to sit in the uncomfortableness for a few minutes and to acknowledge that there is unconscious bias within us. It takes courage to acknowledging personal biases and understand where those beliefs come from and to take the steps to shift those beliefs.
It is through acknowledging and recognizing and shifting those biases, we grow and learn.
